As you can see from my posts this has been a very busy season for me – the busiest since I started this business three years ago! I love meeting and photographing children and families, editing images, designing albums, delivering orders but something has got to give and as result my poor blog has been neglected a bit. My clients love when I feature their sessions on the blog so I promise to do that for all sessions I photographed – it will just take some time to catch up.
I had this session a while ago – at the end of September! If you followed my work for a while you know that I am primarily a children and family photographer and very rarely photograph seniors or older ‘kids’. However, when this girl’s grandfather first contacted me about setting up a photo session for her I was intrigued. There was so much pride in the way he talked about D. and after I met her I could definitely see that it was not just him being a subjective GrandFather. She is absolutely beautiful (as you can see from the images), smart, plays sports, does well in school – pretty much a perfect teenager! I so wish at least one of my girls turn out this way:)
When we met prior to the shoot and her GrandFather shared with me great ideas he had in terms of outfits, poses, etc. I knew the session would be a lot of fun. This session definitely was very different from any other session I’ve done. First off D. came to the session with a whole lot of different outfits, accessories, shoes, etc and I had a blast pairing things together and picking out perfect accessories to go with each outfit – I definitely felt a bit like a photographer on a high fashion photo-shoot:) And it was soooo easy photographing a teenager – I did not need to clown around, tell silly jokes or make funny sounds to get D. attention and a smile – yeah, I admit it, I do pretty much anything to get a natural smile at my children sessions!
As you can see, D. is a natural in front of the camera – it sounds cliche but the camera definitely loves her! I can see a successful modeling career in her future – I can just imagine seeing her photographs in a high fashion magazine and knowing that I was the first professional photographer to photograph her. Come on, D. you gotta pursue this career to give me this satisfaction:)
I had a great time with her and before I knew it 1.5 hours of our session were gone. I could not wait to get home and look at the images I captured. I loved so many of them and it was very difficult for me to narrow them down to this post. Here are a few session highlights:
