Ridgewood Family Photography business turns 3 years old – Happy Birthday Live Love Laugh Photos!

Today is a very special day for me – Live Love Laugh Photos celebrates its birthday!   Three years ago today I was hired to photograph a family – not friends, or acquaintances  but a family that found my website.  I was nervous and excited at the same time and I was truly hoping that pursuing this passion of mine will turn into a career.  Never in my wildest dreams had I imagined how great it would turn out and how much satisfaction it would bring me.  It took a lot of effort, hard work, mistakes, learning, brain-storming sessions and sleepless nights to get where I am and I cannot wait to continue my journey and to share it with you.

In three short years I’ve met so many great families and watched them grow from a couple to a family of three or four people; I photographed babies while they were still in their Mammas’ bellies and then when they were old enough to walk on their own; I’ve watched kids change and their personalities blossom year after year; I’ve had children recognize me while I was out and about in our town as ‘Ms. Lena’ and give me hugs; I’ve had children waiting up for me in their PJs in the evening and jumping up and down with excitement when they saw me at their ordering sessions; I’ve had people tell me that after seeing many other photography websites they were instantly drawn to my images and what I stood for…

I’ve met a lot of great photographers from all over the world and became friends with so many of them.  I had workshops with some of my most admired photographers and was able to learn from them and improve my craft.  I’ve got to mentor aspiring photographers, share my lessons learned regarding photography and running a business and watch them improve and grow.  I won an international photography award and was/will be featured in a few publications (more on that later!)

But the best part, the part that makes it so worth it waking up early in the morning and staying up late at night to finish work is the reactions I get from people, the laughs and tender moments that I get to capture.   It is having people connect to my work, having people tell me that my images literally brought tears to their eyes.  I will never ever that that for granted.  Happy 3rd Birthday Live Love Laugh Photos – I cannot wait to see what the next 3 years will bring!
