My kids turn 11 today!!!

Guess what – as of today my kids are officially half way done with their tween years – they turned 11!!!  When they were born, 9 weeks prior to their due date, – my husband and I had no idea what to expect.  They were tiny (Alexa weighted at 2 lbs 11 oz and Mia was a ‘chubby’ one at 3 lb 8 lbs), they had brain bleeds, were connected to apnea monitors 24×7 and had to be monitored by a team of specialists for the first 1.5 years of their lives.   We had no idea what they would turn out to be so silly, smart, talented, funny and absolutely amazing girls!

And as I’ve done for the last 5 years I took the girls to my studio to get their birthday photos.  Only that day it was rainy and kind of dark and I was tired and did not want to use my studio light and did not have any energy to convince them to wear something more ‘photo appropriate’ – so it ended up being a super quick photoshoot.  But I am glad I have these photos because it is really cool being able to watch them grow and change year after year!
