Family session

I absolutely love this family – we met 2.5 years ago when we (and they) first moved to Ridgewood and hit it off right away.   We actually met thanks to Ms. Josie and Mia and Alexa:  we were all hanging out at our local pool and the girls started to play with each other’s sand toys so her parents came over and we started chatting. We found out that we were both new to Ridgewood, moved here from the city, our kids were the same age – and the rest is history.   Many lunches, dinners and parties later these guys are some of my ‘oldest’ friends and favorite families in Ridgewood and I am honored and humbled that they come back to me year after year for their family portraits.

This girl may look familiar – one of her images from last year now graces the header of my blog!  I’ve photographed Josie when she was two, three and this session took place on her fourth birthday.  I do see her pretty often but nonetheless it is so interesting for me to see through the images how she changes year after year.  All traces of ‘toddlerhood’ are now gone and she is a hilarious, beautiful and very mature (in my opinion!) girl!

When this family had their first session with me two years ago, they created a beautiful collage of images that is displayed proudly in their home.   Every year they add to it and ‘refresh’ it with new images – it is such a great way to see how their family changes throughout the years!    And whenever I am over, it I gives me so much joy seeing my images on their walls!
