My kids are heading off to college in a few short months (I am still trying to wrap my head around that!) so while they are still home, Victor and I are trying to use every chance we get to spend quality time together. And is there a better way that traveling together? I think not! ;).
So when I suggested to Victor that we should go to Venice for the carnival with the kiddos for their February break he was all in! It was a short trip but we thought five nights in Venice (even during Carnival) is a bit too long so we decided to add Florence to the itinerary as well.
The trip was short but so lovely! Mia is studying art history so it was really cool to have her as our tour guide as we explored Renaissance masterpieces in Florence! We saw cool sights:

made (and ate!) lots of delicious food:

and walked all over the place:

Carnival in Venice was definitely a bucket list item! We’ve been to Venice a few times before but seeing it during Carnival was really special and something I would highly recommend. People dressed up in cool costumes were everywhere and there were photos opportunities at every corner.

We’ve been to Burano during our prior trips so this time around we decided to visit Murano and it was lovely:

But my favorite part by far was St Mark’s square and lagoon at sunrise with people in stunning costumes – I almost had to pinch myself it was that beautiful!
