Family photo session at the Top of the Rock | NYC family photography
What can I say about this family photoshoot that we did at the Top of the Rock in NYC?! Only that it was more amazing than I ever thought it was going to be! After all, when you combine a stunning family, evening attire, a beautiful fall day and one of the most spectacular locations NYC has to offer – top of the Rock – you know that the results will be pretty awesome.
What made this session even more special is this family – Michele is a dear dear friend and while they live in Texas I’ve met and hung out with her family many times and do love them! I have to admit that when Michele first mentioned doing her photoshoot at the Top of the Rock I was intrigued (who would not be?!) but also worried. I have a pretty bad fear of heights so the idea of being that high up made my palms sweat. I was also worried about the crowds – after all, Top of the Rock is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the city. But somehow all my fears disappeared once I started shooting and all that remained was pure excitement of being in this incredible place and doing what I love to do – capturing family memories!
I loved witnessing the reactions of these kids when they saw the NYC skyline from a birds eye view for first time. I loved capturing all five of them taking in the beauty of what was in front of them. I loved documenting these kids’ unique personalities and my friend’s special relationships with each of them. I loved seeing Michele and her husband look at each other with so much love. And I absolutely loved sharing my favorite city with my dear friend and her wonderful family. It makes me so happy that these photos will allow this family to have a piece of New York on the walls in their home in Texas.
