Sleep-over

Victor and I were invited to a family wedding down in Cozumel Mexico; most of Victor’s family was coming so we knew that we had to fly down at least one ‘representative’ from our family.  My parents generously offered to take care of the girls so that I could fly down with Victor (first my Mom called to convince me to go, then my Dad did – they did not want me missing out on all the fun!) but after I looked at the crazy travel itinerary I decided to stay home with the girls… I guess I am getting old – choosing a weekend at home over a weekend trip to Mexico!  So to keep me company (and help with my sanity – taking care of two kids of 3 days with no help is no easy task!) my Mom and sister (with her own two kids) came over for a two-day sleep-over!

Mia, Alexa and I had been looking forward to the sleep-over for weeks – they told their nanny and all their friends about it – and I could not wait for the weekend to get here.  While I talk to my parents and sister almost every day, nothing beats spending a couple of days together!  With four kids under 5 running around in the house there were definitely challenges but it was also a lot of fun.  And my sister and I were even able sneak out (thanks to a very generous offer from our Mom!) for a couple of hours for quick coffee/desert/shopping break from the screaming kids.

but our ‘photoshoot’ did not last long and before we knew it they were on the way back home… don’t they look like ‘Charlie’s Angels’ here?

But I have to say, although I would not have changed this weekend for the world, it was so nice to have the house back to ourselves at the end of the weekend:)
