Ridgewood Christmas Photos | Bergen county photo studio

It was 21 degrees out this morning and you know what that means?  It means that it is officially too cold for outdoor sessions – at least for me.  During this time of year I  prefer to stay indoors and I  am so thankful for my Ridgewood photo studio that is nice and toasty and a perfect place for Bergen holiday mini sessions.

I  am not a big fan of complicated Christmas set ups (not that there is anything wrong with them) so every year I  design my Christmas sets with that in mind – I  want them to be light and air and ‘clean’ so that the focus of Christmas photos is on kids and not on backgrounds behind them.  So if you are researching Bergen county photographers for your kids Christmas sessions and you have visions of their photos with multi layered sets, backdrops painted with Christmas scenes, etc – then I am not the photographer for you.  Don’t get me wrong – there is nothing wrong with these types of sessions –  there are so many photographers out there who do these types of christmas sessions and do them BEAUTIFULLY and so many people love that.  It’s just not me – it’s not what I  would want for my own Christmas cards and staying true to myself – it’s not what I  want to offer to my clients.  But if you like ‘clean and modern’ look, a handful of props that make these photos Christmas-y but also don’t distract from the kids – then I  am your gal!

The Mom of these two asked if she could bring a dog to the photo session and being a dog person myself (I  am a tiny bit obsessed with my whoodle puppy!) of course I  said yet..  The Mom said that the dog would be better behaved than the kids – and he indeed was really well behaved – sitting there giving me a stare:)  The kids were pretty great themselves and a show machine was a HUGE hit with them – I  wish I  recorded their reaction to the ‘snow’:)  The photos should give you a good idea though – just imagine a lot of happy squealing that accompanied these smiles:)
