Photographing a family with Teens in Ridgewood |Bergen County family photographer
As a Bergen County children and family photographer I work with a lot of families to do their family photoshoots. So many families do annual family photo sessions when their kids are young but for some reason having family photos done when kids are older is not as popular. I don’t think that should be the case – my own kids are teens now and every year I hire a photographer to do our family photos. Sure – they are not chubby toddlers any more with adorable 6 year olds with jack-o-lantern smiles… but this is such a special time in their lives – time when they are changing from kids to beautiful adults and I believe that time deserves to be captured and celebrated just like all childhood milestones.
This is why I get so excited when parents choose me to document family sessions with older kids! I was thrilled to be working with this family again this year – I ‘ve been photographing these guys since the girls were 3 and 5 – we’ve had a number of family photo shoots together and it was truly magical watching them grow! I can hardly believe that both of them are in HIGH SCHOOL now – how did that happen?!
With older kids there are no bathroom humor (works like a charm with little ones!) or sneaky tickle attacks (that works great as well!) – there are more thoughtful portraits and meaningful smiles.
