Maternity photos at a Bergen County studio

Did you know that other than my engagement photoshoot/wedding, my first experience with professional photography was a maternity session? I really wanted to capture my growing body and spent hours and hours researching a maternity photographer. It’s been over 13 years since my maternity photo session but every once in a while I still look at those images, at my ginormous belly (I was carrying twins!) and I am so glad that I have these photos.

So when expecting mamas reach out to me about their maternity sessions I can speak from experience and tell them that they will love these photos forever. Yes you may have swollen ankles and may not be able to see your feet, and you may waddle around and not look like yourself (all true things that happened to me!) but being pregnant such a special experience and definitely deserves to be captured.

This mama of soon-to-be three did not ‘suffer’ from any of the pregnancy afflictions that affected me – there was no waddling, she was so graceful wearing her high heels, she looked radiant and absolutely rocked her session!

And as much as I love including kids in photoshoots (family photography is my specialty after all) I am glad that at this particular session it was all about the mom-to-be. After all, how often do we as woman get to have a photoshoot that’s all about us?!! Not often enough I say! And there will be time for a family session when the little one arrives – I am already looking forward to photographing this family as a family of five!
