Downtown Ridgewood photo session with older kids | Bergen County teen photographer

Many parents of older kids – teens and tweens – tell me that they don’t schedule family photo sessions because their kids are too old to be skipping around a park or playing with their toys.  And to that I  say that your kids are NEVER too old for a family photo session!  And while yes it’s true tjat certain things that work well for photoshoots with younger kids won’t work with teens, there is plenty we can do to capture great family images.

Case in point this Ridgewood family with three boys, the youngest of whom is in 8th grade!  The oldest boy was going off to college and this Mom reached out to me because she wanted to have family photos of all five of them together at the end of this chapter in their lives – while all five of them still lived under the same roof.

We chose downtown Ridgewood as a location for this family photo session – I  think this urban backdrop works well for these types of family photoshoots.  I loved getting to know the boys (one of which is in the same middle school as my kids so I  got some inside scoop!), and creating family photos that will forever bring them back to this moment in time.
