If you’ve been to my first photo studio in downtown Ridgewood you know how beautiful it was and how much I loved it. But after spending two years there I realized that while it was a great space, it was getting to feel a bit too small for what I needed it to be. And the whole parking situation in Ridgewood was not great – finding a spot to park in downtown Ridgewood (especially during lunch time) was close to impossible! I knew I wanted to stay in Bergen County close to Ridgewood so late last spring I started to look for a bigger and better studio space and found it at 580 North Maple Ave in Ridgewood! The building itself is awesome – newly renovated with several awesome businesses. There is a very nice hair salon – Artists and Architects and a Bar Method on the ground floor. And next to me on the second floor there is a great Art Studio. AND here is plenty of FREE parking! Everybody is so nice and friendly in the building and I feel so lucky to have found such a great place to plant my studio roots!
I’ve been at that location since mid June’ 15 but between setting it up, and getting ready for my Grand Opening (I still need to post those pictures) and being busy photographing adorable kids and sweet families, I did not have time to take pictures of the space till now. Well, better late (9 months late!) than never right? 🙂
I have to say that I LOOOOOVE my new space! When I first moved in there I would come in and just sit and take it all in and enjoy the peace and quiet:) It is a modern and clean and comfortable and very much ‘me’. When kids come in for their photo sessions a lot of them ask if I live there – it does feel very homey!
There are several large east facing windows and the studio gets gorgeous natural light most of the day. I also have studio lights that are used when it is grey and dark out.
I love my spacial and comfortable lounge area – it is used to meet with clients for their pre-session consultations as well as viewing and design sessions. I use a big screen TV to show clients images from their sessions. Samples of boutique products- canvas collages, metal and fine art framed prints, heirloom albums – are displayed all around the studio. My clients can see, touch and feel all products and pick out the ones they love the best – although I have to admit that picking out your favorite from my lineup of stunning high quality products is not easy:)
The ‘shooting’ part of the studio is modern and airy but at the same time very comfortable and homey. I started with bare basics but by now I’ve purchased a lot of furniture for this space – there is a bed with a nice headboard, and a futon, several arm chairs and a high chair – plenty of options for any type of photoshoot – from a newborn to baby, children, headshots or boudoir – all of which I’ve done there!
My girls love visiting my photo studio because I have lots of yummy snacks (think biscotti and chocolate truffles) and drinks (fancy sparkling waters and juices). I have books and toys for kids to play with, some event specific props (for Christmas, Valentine’s Day, First Day of School sessions, etc) and even a bluetooth speaker – so that clients can listen to their favorite music – all details have been thought out to make my clients’ time as my Ridgewood photography studio as comfortable and enjoyable as possible!
So if you want to come over and check it out in person, bring your children for a baby or children studio photo session, expecting and are interested in a maternity or a newborn session, or need professional headshots – let me know – this Ridgewood photo studio is the place to do it!
