PJs and Pancakes and giggles and snuggles | Bergen county at home photo session

 

I’ve been photographing this Bergen County family for over seven years and I always look forward to seeing them – I get hugs and notes from the girls and more often than not I leave with a little treat:)  This time around for their session we decided to keep it super casual and capture their weekend routine – and I  am so glad we did.     There was no posing and no expectations, no trying-to-look perfect – just cute kids wearing PJs, pancakes and snuggles, giggles and a mini harmonica performance, ballet stretches and playing hide-and-seek in a closet – it was a typical Saturday morning for the L. family.   The family loved their photos and in addition to canvases, they ordered an album, like they always do – these photos tell a story and I  think an album is a perfect way to showcase these images.

And what makes this session even more special is that it was my last session before the COVID madness descented on New Jersey and I had to stop photographing families in Bergen county.  I  am listening to Governor Murphy’s updates every day and every day I  hope that he will give us a date when we can slowly resume our lives and regular activities and when I can get back to doing what I  love – photographing families all over Bergen county – from a safe distance (at least for the near future).
