Snow, Santas and Locks on the Bridge | a weekend in the city

A few weeks ago Victor and I were supposed to celebrate our ‘engagement anniversary’ (yes, we are a bit corny and STILL celebrate those!) with a kids-free weekend in the city.  But the day before our big weekend Alexa came down with Scarlet Fever – who knew that it was not a thing of the past!  So we had to cancel our hotel and dinner reservation and stay home to take care of our girl.  The good thing was that Alexa recovered pretty quickly and we were able to reschedule our little get-away.

Of course, with our luck we had a big snow storm the day of our get-away but that worked out well because the city looked so magical (and clean!) covered in snow!   It was SantaCon that day and it was pretty cool to see Santas of all shapes and sizes walking all over the city.  We stayed in Gramercy, ate at our favorite restaurants, saw a movie and enjoyed a little city break.  Unfortunately it was cut short because on Sunday morning Mia got a stomach bug and we, being responsible and caring parents that we are, went to pick her up at my parents first thing Sunday morning.  But it was still very nice to have a little get-away!
