If you’ve been following me for a while you know that every September Victor and I go away on a kids-free vacation – we’ve done it since our kids were 1.5 years old and never skipped a year. Till now, that is.. This year our kids are seniors and I really did not want to miss anything their senior year – I wanted to attend every tennis match and every marching band competition. I even wanted to go to the Back-to-School night (I think till this year we’ve only been to TWO back-to-school nights!). So we decided not go away in September and instead do a quick and easy get-away once the tennis and marching band seasons were over.
We chose to go to Mayakoba in Mexico – it was quick and easy and while we don’t do resort vacations (we prefer more active trips) we figured a few days of doing nothing would do us good. And indeed it did – we enjoyed lounging around on the beach and by the pool, eating delicious food, taking naps (can I tell you how much I love naps now!!!) and exploring the area. We even fit in a trip to cenotes – both open area and in a cave and snorkling in a lagoon. And came back a bit sunburnt but very relaxed!
